Currently a co-director of the CCNRB, Céline Gallet makes a point of remaining active as a producer, a veritable “woman behind the curtain” in performing arts. Raised backstage, surrounded by performers, and ferried from festivals to artist residencies, she has developed, in addition to a strong fondness for the spirit of the dance troupe, an intimate belief that contact with works of art is what makes the individual. Throughout her career, she has been committed to promoting shared creation tools and building links between artists and the professionals around them.
Since her initial forays into supporting artists—first in the world of the spoken word, followed by seven years in Ego, a company managed by Éric Mézino, to the creation and development of Garde Robe—Céline Gallet has found her natural place in the universe of creation. Using the label Garde Robe, the duo bring together a representative sample of the new French choreographic scene rooted in hiphop, and contribute to fostering exchange and breaking down barriers between different practices. A firm belief in “making” (faire) and “making together” (faire ensemble) has thus guided the dialog forged between actors and performers, both on and off stage, foreshadowing the creative spirit embodied today by the collective FAIR-E.
As part of the group, working shoulder to shoulder with artists choreographers, Céline Gallet has emerged as a natural custodian of this shared ethic. She strives to disseminate the project of the CCN across the region as a “communal space of shared sensibility.”
