Inès Mauricio

Inès Mauricio is a Swiss multidisciplinary artist based in Lorient, Brittany.
She explores a movement style that she cultivates through the language of hip-hop. This culture of self-expression and identity has enabled her to build an internal dialogue that she expresses through her body, ranging from intimate mastery to an emancipating letting go. Having not followed an academic dance curriculum, she quickly developed her own aesthetic codes and creativity through rigorous, self-taught personal exploration.
In 2019, she created the “free movement” workshops—dance workshops she leads based on what she observes as the driving forces in her own dance—and offers them to a diverse audience that she does not wish to limit solely to those who identify as dancers. These are spaces for free, supportive expression, with no expectations other than self-exploration through movement.
Having practiced film photography alongside her artistic exploration for years, this eye—which freezes a moment in time—manifests itself in her approach to movement. For her, movement is a series of successive images. Every moment has value and a possible interpretation. The body serves as a metaphor, conveying an image that invites the viewer to connect with their unconscious, their imagination, and their own experience. The body, echoing the human spirit, connects us all.
DJing came into her life quite naturally through her social circle and her rich and varied music collection. She began learning the art of DJing in 2019 and discovered a creative flow similar to that of dance—a moment when time stands still as she digs or mixes. In 2020, she launched a format she calls “Contemplation Sonore,” motivated by a desire to create spaces conducive to listening and contemplation through a carefully curated musical selection that transcends genre boundaries.
Working closely with artist Mackenzy Bergile, they co-founded Domaine Mauricio Bergile. An independent art and ecology space in Caudan that focuses on a return to ecological intentions and practices within its artistic vision. Exhibitions, workshops, residencies, and multidisciplinary performances are all opportunities to bring people together, ask questions, meet others, and engage in dialogue… in essence, they are opportunities for life itself.
She is also a co-founder of the Breton collective The Love Movement, through which she works to highlight the richness and diversity of hip hop culture by teaching classes and workshops, as well as organizing events in Brittany.
Inès Mauricio premiered her first solo performance Chega de Saudade in 2026.
