Raphaël Stora

A former dancer on the “new style” hip hop scene, Raphaël Stora—a video creator—wrote and directed Les promesses du sol (2017), an Arte-produced web series that nostalgically looks back on the early breakdancing battles and encounters that shaped the director’s career. Bold, raw, and eclectic—much like hip-hop culture itself—the web series Les promesses du sol honors urban dancers, their movements, and their stories. An ode to the street dance generation, it captures in eight episodes the power of the moves etched into the Parisian asphalt.
Raphaël Stora continues his work as a director today, notably with a series Les corps électriques, a documentary and a series of testimonials from dancers, and by collaborating with established and emerging artists such as Saïdo Lehlouh, Bonnie Banane, and Ndoho Ange…
He also performs in Saïdo Lehlouh’s production Témoin.
