Maison Lou(p)

@ Lionel Lacotte
  • Durée : 30min

In Maison Lou(p), Oumrata Konan examines the taboo of incest through the language of ‘whacking’ – a dance born of the need to exist, to speak out and to survive. Inspired by her own story and the work of anthropologist Dorothée Dussy, this piece explores the systemic violence concealed behind family facades.
The wolf – the one within – thus becomes a symbol of the danger lurking at the heart of intimacy: the home, that supposedly safe place, reveals its contradictions whilst the body questions the child’s place, voice and role.
Maison Lou(p) is Oumrata Konan’s first choreographic work. Lasting approximately 30 minutes, it is designed to speak to young people by creating a space to break the silence and dance the unspoken truths.
