Residency opening: Bound by promises, bound to home, bound to […]

Bound by promises, bound to home, bound to […] is a trio performance that explores the notion of connection, and how it shifts when placed under pressure in a context of urgency. The performance unfolds along a trajectory from acceptance to refusal, and from conflict to collaboration, shaped by a precarious balance between individual and collective desires to face chaos—or let it unfold.
Bound by promises, bound to home, bound to […] is the first work by the Shelter collective.

Shelter brings together Emma Bertaud, Malick Cissé and Adam Chado, three choreographic artists with distinct backgrounds who came together during their training at the CNDC in Angers. The collective emerged from a shared observation: the preliminary research process, often invisible, deserves to be shown just as much as the finished work. Their approach is structured around three strands: outreach, stage creation and event organisation, conceived as complementary entry points for engaging with different audiences.
