Mehdi Baki

Mehdi began exploring movement at the age of 11, starting with capoeira and bboying. To broaden his repertoire, he decided to train in other techniques, such as contemporary dance, at the same time. In 2011, his discovery of physical theater through the Jacques Lecoq School transformed his vision of movement and opened up new perspectives for him, particularly regarding dynamics and space. Since then, he has sought to create connections between the various movement vocabularies he has explored by incorporating a strong sense of theatricality.

He has collaborated with Giuliano Peparini, James Thierrée, Yoann Bourgeois, and Saïdo Lehlouh on international productions, both as a performer and as an assistant.

In 2017, he co-created *Bye Bye Myself* with Nicolas Fayol at Main d’OEuvre in St. Ouen. Following up on this first piece, he created a second duet with Nicolas Fayol, *OHHO*, at the Théâtre de Nîmes in 2021.

Since 2022, he has also been active in film, appearing in Cédric Klapisch’s *En corps*, where he plays one of the lead roles, and in Dan Levy’s *Good Grief*, an English-language film streaming on Netflix.

At the same time, he remains active in the battle scene, having been, among other achievements, a finalist in Juste Debout, a two-time winner of the Open Your Mind battle, and the winner of the Who Got the Flower battle.
