Residence Open Studio – Maison Lou(p) by Oumrata Konan

@ Lionel Lacotte

Oumrata Konan challenges the taboo of incest through whacking, a dance born of the need to exist and survive. Inspired by her own story and the work of Dorothée Dussy, this solo piece explores the systemic violence concealed behind family facades. The wolf within, lurking at the very heart of intimacy.

Oumrata Konan is a dancer, performer and multidisciplinary artist based in Île-de-France. Specialising in whacking, she develops choreographic work in which the body becomes a space for expression, resistance and transformation. Self-taught before training at the Académie Internationale de la Danse, she has collaborated notably with Tatiana Seguin, Marion Motin, Josépha Madoki, Benjamin Millepied and Mounia Nassangar. A member of STUCK since 2024, she will create her first solo piece, Maison Lou(p), in 2026.
