UNDER/GROUND

An extraordinary event dedicated to new art forms emerging from underground dance scenes.

Hip-hop, house, whacking, dancehall, and voguing didn’t originate in studios—they took shape where dancing was first and foremost an act of existence and resistance. UNDER/GROUND is dedicated to them: organized by the FAIR-E / CCN collective from Rennes and Brittany in cooperation with the TNB and 19 partner venues, the event offers more than 40 events to come together in a different way: transforming the personal into collective strength and the stage into a space for celebration, remembrance, and taking a stand. Shows, performances, discussions, workshops, hybrid formats, and evening events—all are ways of affirming that dances relegated to the margins are already at the center: their own, full-fledged, and legitimate center.
